Congratulations to Phill Cole who reached his 25-year work anniversary recently.
Phill started his career with Caswell on August 9th 1999…the year we had reached 99 McDonald’s completions and our 1st Nando’s.

On interviewing Phill, Caswell Director (now Chairman) Richard Coxen was impressed to hear that – while still at school – he voluntarily attended a Saturday morning club at BAE Systems for several weeks to learn about Engineering.
Phill joined us under a 5-year Apprenticeship, heading for a career as a Site Fitter. It was during his initial 2 years in our Sheet Metal Manufacturing Workshop that Phill received Apprentice of the Year Award from Training 2000 and a further training award from trade Association BESA. (far left)
He then moved over to the site team to complete Level 2&3 in Ductwork Installation. This started somewhat inauspiciously, as he got covered in ‘Blackjack’ sealer on his first day on site with John Mills.
Phill’s career at Caswell progressed from Installer to Senior Craftsman in 2013 – working on high-end stainless-steel fabrications such as canopies and heavy-duty dampers – then Chargehand in 2016 and into his current role as Works Foreman in 2018.
Phill is renowned for his passion for organisation and mission to create the best possible working environment and genuine team mentality within Production. All these have been pivotal in meeting the growth of CASWELL FIRESAFE® and the demands of our restaurant work.
Throughout his 25 years, Phill has always shown an exemplary character and full commitment and dedication to work.
He leads by example and can always be relied upon, which is very much appreciated by his colleagues and all in the company.
We are lucky to have him.
Phill’s wife – Kath – and daughters – Isabella and Lucia – were keen to witness the occasion and they watched in anticipation as their Dad cut his Caswell-themed celebration cake…very precisely, of course.
